Belongs To Gemini's Sign
By:  Azza El Wakeel

You, who belongs to Gemini's sign
Cool like winter wind
Hot like the equator
Deceiving like the mirage
Truthful like torture pains

You, master of postponed promises
You promise me to call
I wait for your ring
It's never done
You promise me romantic dates
I wait for your arrival
You never come

You, master of surprises
You leave me a victim if grieve
Then suddenly show up
To embrace me between the palms
Of your tenderness
You disappear mysteriously
That I don't know
If your absence will be endless
Did you leave with no return?
Is it farewell?
Or you're in a state of wane?
My moon with changeable faces
Then you return like a full moon in the sky
Your passion returns after harshness

You, who surprise me like summer rains
Waters the desert of my days
Then leave me confused
Not knowing if you're real
Or a lie in my imagination

You, who belongs to Gemini's sign
Who overspreads me like a rising tide
Then withdraws like a falling tide
Who visits me in my night dream
Then sneaks away by dawn

You, the far, the near
The lover, the stranger
You, the contradicted twin
I'm exhausted of your moody love
I'm tired of your temperamental style

My Longning Hand
By: Azza El Wakeel

I turn over between worry
and jealousy
Your love hugged in my arms
Tap with my longing hand
Your heart's door
In every night's dream
I whisper timidly
I miss your sweet words
That melts in my heart like candy
To revive it again
Since your silence
It's been dormant
I keep repeating:
"Open" my lover's heart
Till I"m hopeless
I wake-up at dawn
Haste between suspicion
and confusion
Your love held tight in my chest
Tap with my still hoping hand
Your silent land
Beg for a divination
With an explanation
Waters my thirst to understand
I search in my psychology books
Study your case
Scream "Split" lover's silence
Till I'm helpless
During the day I ask rose petals
Are you unjust or oppressed?
Are you a joker?
Are you sane or insane?
I ask love scientists
How did your love change?
Between a day and night
From almond syrup to lemon acid!

Orange Light
By: Azza El Wakeel

On my heart's door
there's a traffic signal
of three colors
red, green and orange
Red light means stop
Orange, get ready
Green, step in peace
And my heart's signal
is saying get ready
the light is now orange
Because the love seeds
you spread in my day's desert
Watered with rains of tenderness
Surrounded with sun's caring
Are now pure and ripe blossoms
Soon they'll open into roses
colored with rainbow's degrees
diffusing scents overflowing
with delicate romantic senses
whispering in a poetic language
it's poems will be written
in human history books
on transparent white pages
with feathers of a noble
fairy bird's wing
and pastel compassionate inks
Soon my bare hours
will change into green leaves
to the garden I so long longed for
and wished in my dreams
very soon so stand by
and get ready
because it's orange light

Waiting
By: Azza El Wakeel

I waited years
to complete my apple's half
To meet with a man
like a legend's knight
To take me away
on a love carpet
to the world where only
lovers' travel
During those years
Others advises never ended
Saying I should farewell
my dream
Step out-of childhood
Step into reality
Before I miss the marriage train
and become a spinster
I must choose a man
With my mind to share my life
Become a mother
Before it's too late
My friends keep swearing
Happiness in marriage
isn't the rule
but the exception
As for love
If destiny didn't gather me
with the one who deserves
to be loved
I must love he who's available
and ready
Meaning to invent love
For need is the mother of invention!

Violin Chords
By: Azza El Wakeel

Please my love don't waste
one moment remembering
yesterday's tears and wail
Don't play anymore the melody
of your sad past
Let me change your violin chords
Please my love don't go far one step
Don't be afraid to walk in my path
It's bright and safe
No thorns no monsoons
Basils grow by its sides
I covered its land with flowers of gardenia
and jasmine for you
Please my love don't dream one night
in another sky than mine
No moon will love you
more truly than my moon
No stars will be more affectionate
than my beautiful stars
You'll never find in another sky
this unique blue color painted
by my loving mind
and degrees of my arts
Nor my clouds that are formed
of vapor carrying the scent
of the treasures of my sea
My violet perfume
Drops of my roses
and lemon leaves

You Forgot Me
By: Azza El Wakeel

You forgot me
Although I'm living with you
under one roof
Sheltered behind one door
with you from winds
Is the reason for forgetting me?
That you're like some men
Who get bored with one fruit
Even if it's cherry or apple!
You forgot me to an extent
That I thought of publishing
An advertisement in the daily
Newspaper under a big title
Reminding you I'm still alive
You forgot me but I'm obliged
To tolerate you and forgive you
In order to live
Because I am like a fish
And you are my sea
If I leave you I perish

I Know
By: Azza El Wakeel

I know that very soon
I will rest my head
On your chest
Feel ecstasy
And the lust to write
My most beautiful poem
From three words saying
I Love You

I know that very soon
I will travel with no return
To your magical worlds
Change in your sea
Into a mermaid
Twinkle in your sky
Like a golden star

That falling in your affection
Is a definite issue
And declaring surrender to you
Is a pre-determined case

That my heart will burst
Towards your love
Like a carbine bullet
Will rush for you into
A thousand battles war

For the first time
I feel weak
And will be happy
To be sheltered in your power
Set up my tent on the wedges
Of your manliness

For the first time
I feel the desire
To become to a man
Who's you at signal

Discard my mind
At the entrance of your love
Follow your dancing steps
On the tune of excitement

For the first time
I feel protected
In the hugs of safety
That I will have a palace
In a man's Eden who's you

I know I will sail
In the canoe of your compassion
In your pure river
Your palms will be my coasts

In your voice there's a charm
That is dragging me
To the end of my touring

Apology
By: Azza El Wakeel

You love in a dropping way
drop by drop
I want a love that fills me
Be plentiful and drowns me
You think and plan
Night and day
Life is wasted
You spend days
To cover a distance of an hour
and sometimes months
like a crippled tortoise
I want one who conquers distances
Races' wind for my sake
You dislike darkness
I see that without it
No moon gleams
No stars sparkle
You're ignorant despite
All languages you master
Because you don't understand
my eyes language
Your nature is geographical
You don't move without a map
You don't differentiate between
Battle wars and romantic stories
You don't know that love is an idiot
Doesn't abide to logic
Nor follow strategies
Cannot be canned nor programmed
Spontaneity is its beauty
Sometimes sails in a river
Other times turns over inside a volcano
Flies away from earth's surface
Doesn't carry a compass in its pockets
Never studied lines of length and breadth
You don't know that hearts are able
To meet anyplace

Wishes
By: Azza El Wakeel

I wish we took golden threads
from the sun
To twist our love words
on the river's page
Surround it with petals
of pink roses

I wish we kissed the moon's face
Our love to fall likes raindrops
Waters all the trees roots
and branches

I wish we lived our lives
more than once
Repeat every moment twice
Live all our imaginations
Some of the reality
All the impossible

I wish to offer you a bouquet
from the flowers of my happiness
Light all the candles with my hopes
Cuddle you in my heart

I wish the wind carried us
to a place where it's only daytime
So that your face is never veiled
from my eyes

I wish birds shared our singing
Pearls our dancing
till perishing

I wish we crossed together
the bridge of suspicions
to where darkness fades
the truth of our existence is revealed
where we can speak in silence
see each other with our hearts

Your Paint
By: Azza El Wakeel

When you make me happy
I paint you in pink
When Sad in gray
When feeling laughter
With pastel colors
When crying with
My watery tears

When you make me jealous
I become angry
Burn all your paints
Then I calm down
Regret the ashes
Start a new drawing book

When you make me glad
I drink my coffee sweet
Light grains
With sugar and cardamom
When we fight
I drink it bitter
Dark grains
Dispute with sugar and cardamom
When we reconcile
I break the old cups
Buy new ones
Offer the youth of my neighborhood
Sugar syrup
The children candies

Paper Boat
By: Azza El Wakeel

When night set in
I relaxed my eyelids
On your photo
Fancied you in my way
Felt I hugged the full-moon
Owned all the stars in the sky
Then worry sneaked into me
Through night curtains
When it left I dreamed
My heart's a paper boat
Sailed to the middle of your love
Before landing on your shore
It was completely wet
Destined to sinking
When I woke up
I sent away my fear
Announced my will
To have my heart killed
After an extra dose of love
Instead of staying living
In a state of dry compassion
